Rental Payments

All rents are due and payable to the Vernon Housing Authority on the 1st day of each calendar month in advance, without demand, payable by personal check, money order or cashier’s check.  (No Cash or Federal Reserve Notes accepted).  Rent checks can be mailed or hand-delivered to the main office:  P. O. Box 963, 21 Court Street, Vernon, CT  06066 or dropped at one of the following Rent Box Drop-off locations:

  • Court Towers - lobby

  • Grove Court – community room (south door) until 3:00 p.m.

  • Franklin Park East & West – laundry building

  • Windermere Court – laundry building

  • Francis J. Pitkat Congregate Living Center – to the right of management office door

Vernon Housing Authority will not accept post-dated checks.  After the 10th of the month, rent will only be accepted by the Housing Authority at the main office at P.O. Box 963, 21 Court Street, Vernon, CT  06066. For further information, please refer to your 2015 Rent Collection Policy or contact the Finance Office at (860) 871-0886 ext. 115. 

In search of housing in the Town of Vernon?

The waiting list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is currently closed. However, we are accepting applications for the Public Housing Program and the Pitkat Congregate Living Center. Please review the details of each program to see if you or your family qualify. Be advised that all housing sites under the Vernon Housing Authority are subject to a waiting list at this time.
